Children's Privacy

We only store students' names, login codes, book reviews, logged reading time, and passwords. We will not share any of this information with third parties.

Guidelines for Children Under 13 (COPPA)
To ensure the protection of children under the age of 13 Flangoo adheres to the following policies:

  • As Flangoo is used in an educational setting, it is expected that a teacher has received parental permission before creating a student's account.
  • While first and last name are used as identifiers for a student, teachers have the option to provide as little as one letter for both first and last names.
  • No contact information is collected from students.
  • Students have no access to public forums or social networking. All student work is contained within the teacher's account.
  • Flangoo will never advertise to a student.
  • We do not distribute any personally identifiable information about students to third parties.
  • Parents have the right to review their student's stored data and may request for it to be deleted. (FERPA)

We certify that we are SOPPA-compliant, therefore we are:

  • Not using collected data to provide targeted ads;
  • Not profiling students except in furtherance of school purposes;
  • Not selling or renting student information;
  • Not disclosing information unless required to by law or as part of the maintenance and development of its service;
  • Using sound security practices;
  • Deleting student data when requested by the school or district;
  • Publicly disclosing information about its use, terms of service, agreement, and privacy policy; 
  • able, if asked, to enter into a written agreement with the school district. 

Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page.

We will let you know via email and/or a prominent notice on our Service prior to the change becoming effective, and update the "effective date" at the top of this Privacy Policy.
