What is Flangoo.com?

A streaming subscription-based service for digital Spanish readers. Your Flangoo account gives you and your students access to a library featuring three different levels of varying titles designed for middle school and high school Spanish classes—all included in your subscription cost!

Why did we start Flangoo?

We created Flangoo in quick response to COVID-19 school closures. With a Flangoo subscription, a teacher can continue using readers in their remote learning/teaching classrooms.

How much does a subscription cost?

Flangoo offers both monthly and yearly subscriptions. For a limited time, Flangoo is HALF OFF for teachers whose schools have closed due to COVID-19: $19.99 per month (regularly $39.98) or $99.99 per year (regularly $199.98).

How do I try it out?

Click here to start your free week of Flangoo. If you like it, you can upgrade your free membership to a 1-month or 1-year membership from your account dashboard.

Will it auto-renew every month or every year?

No. We will send you an email three days before the end of your subscription period reminding you that it is about to expire.

Can I cancel at any time?

Yes, you can cancel at any time. Since Flangoo doesn't automatically renew, you can also just let your subscription expire. Note: We can’t provide refunds for unused days or months. We hope you’ll take advantage of our free one-week trial to see if Flangoo is a good fit for you and your students before purchasing. How do I pay?

Currently, you can go to Flangoo.com and purchase using PayPal. If you would like to pay using a credit card or school purchase order, you can do that by going to www.teachersdiscovery.com and searching for Flangoo. You will have the option to purchase either membership. If purchasing through teachersdiscovery.com, please note that there may be a delay of up to 48 hours in receiving your login credentials. What is included in my membership?

Both the monthly and yearly subscription options include access to five Level 1 readers, five Level 2 readers, and five Level 3 readers for a teacher and up to 150 students. Some readers include enhanced features such as complete chapter audio and video dialogues in Spanish. Some readers include optional comprehension questions.

How many students can access the Flangoo library?

You can add up to 150 students. Why 150? We polled Spanish teachers and determined that the average teacher has approximately five class periods of approximately 30 kids per period. If you need more, email help@teachersdiscovery.com. The beauty of Flangoo is that it has several levels of readers so if you are teaching Spanish 1, 2, and 3, they can all have access to the same subscription.

How do I give students access?

Once a teacher logs in, there is a menu in the top right-hand corner. From there, the teacher can add students one at a time and manually send each student their login code and password OR use the student link to have students generate their own login and password. You can either email all of your students in a group with the link or post the link on your Learning Management System for them to access.

Are students required to give any personal information?

We only request a name and class period for teacher purposes. Because you will see students’ access, they will email you if they lose their login code or they need you to reset their password because they forgot it.

How do you give students their login code and password if Flangoo doesn't require their email address?

You email them a link and they set themselves up. You won't even see their password. If they forget, you can just reset it. You will be able to manage all of that from the Manage Students page. We recommend that you highly stress that when they sign up, they store their login code and their created password in a secure location, so you don't have to retrieve it for them too frequently.

Will Flangoo work on any device?

Yes. Flangoo is designed to work on laptops, desktops, iPads, iPhones, Android phones, and Android tablets. Whatever devices you and your students have, they will work with Flangoo. If you happen to find a device that isn't compatible, email us at help@teachersdiscovery.com and we'll work to find a solution.

Are you going to add more titles?

Yes! We are currently working on even more readers to add to the Flangoo library. We are also working on improving and adding new features to the existing titles to make Flangoo even better for you and your students. If you have any ideas or suggestions for new titles, please email us at flangoo@teachersdiscovery.com.

Is there a French or German version?

Not yet, but we are considering it! If there is enough interest, we may add titles for French and German classes.

Are there answer keys to the comprehension questions

Yes. When you (the teacher) logs in, with a paid subscription, the answer keys are located in the menu under your name/account . Select the level of the reader, then choose the reader to access the answers. Only paid accounts have access to the answers, which prevents students from creating a free teacher account to access the answers. Students do not have access to the answers from their accounts.

How do I get help?

Can I group students by class?

Yes. On the Manage Students page, there is an option to view one class at a time. To group students into classes, make sure they have the same class period.

Will it track student progress?

Yes. You can view a student's information to see which books they have read, which chapter they are on, and the amount of time they have spent reading for each title.
